towelhead movie - Oh what a difference an hour (of sleep) makes. I felt totally refreshed this afternoon, driving through a blizzard from Park City to Salt Lake City for a Downloading Nancy/Adventures of Power double feature. Director Johan Renck’s Downloading Nancy is a rough one to watch. Very good, with solid performances from Jason Patric and Rufus Sewell as well as a standout from Maria Bello. It’s a difficult film to summarize as much of its power lies in the slow, deliberate pace at which information is revealed. It’s a worthwhile ride however, as riveting as it is disturbing. Adventures of Power on the other hand is a hoot. Imagine a fantasy world where Napoleon Dynamite was actually funny and, as an added bonus, featured gratuitous helpings of air drumming. Such a world does exist and Adventures of Power is that movie. A full review will be coming soon - only a day and a half left before we head home - but for now I’m going to take advantage of a midnight movie-free evening and get to sleep on the early side. Tomorrow starts with Towelhead and I’m damned sure not going to be able to handle Alan Ball at 8:30am if I’m not well rested.towelhead
