The most important travel site of the year

December 24th, 2007 · No Comments

Santa trackerIf you have kids (or if you’re a kid at heart!), on Christmas Eve there is only one travel site that matters – the NORAD Santa Tracker! The site follows Santa for 24 hours, telling you his last known location. When I logged on this morning, he had just been in Fuji, Japan. Right now, as I type, he’s busy in Baza, Philippines.

My kids are ecstatic, especially my five-year-old who is old enough to understand what she’s seeing and to grasp a mini science lesson in which I used a globe and a lamp to show her why it’s morning here but already night time over there.

You can check out the Santa Tracker directly on the site, you can set up a widget if you have an iGoogle website, and if you have Google Earth (totally worth the download), you can download the Santa tracker which shows you in real time exactly where Santa is flying. Your kids will love the zooming and panning.

Merry Christmas from our house to yours!
