The Northwest Chief of Customs, Jerry Janjoh Naah, Friday, January 25, went out of his way and chased away journalists of the private media who had turned up to cover the World Customs Day in Bamenda.

The Customs Chief and his collaborators told the journalists to get
lost. “Who invited you people here? We invited CRTV and other
electronic media houses, because we know nobody reads those your
newspapers.

So, please leave my premises,” ordered Janjoh. Embarrassed,
the journalists grumbled and left. Janjoh, who is barely three months
old in office, told corrupt customs officials to repent. He said his
colleagues should also use the occasion (World Customs Day) “for
self-examination and repentance.”

In view of the fact that the
budgetary revenue target of this sector in the Northwest for the first
quarter of the financial year has been fixed at FCFA 82.5 million,
Janjoh urged his colleagues to renew their covenant and total
commitment of the laid down objectives.

He enumerated the hurdles

sharp cutters then drop down into the parlour or bedroom. The rest is

over a local radio station, Abakwa FM, on the state of the roads that
were recently constructed and received by the government.

Ndeh said the
public was overly critical to point out that the road linking
Veterinary Junction to Finance Junction was done with thin tar. Hear
him: “it is too early to pass judgment that the first rains will wash
off the tar with ease.

After all, the public has a right to its
opinion. But let me tell you that one of the characteristics of a
Bamenda man is that he is always complaining,” Ndeh remarked. He
disclosed that the State has made available FCFA 300 million for the
construction of a building to house the Bamenda City Council.

Beware Of Highway Robbers

For commuters who ply the Ring Road, especially between Sabga, Bambili
Hill and Ndop, beware of highway robbers (coupeurs de route). They have
