Former Cubs Cy Young winner Rick Sutcliffe has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Sutcliffe was luckily diagnosed with a treatable form of the cancer, and is expected to return to TV later this year. Sutcliffe is one of those pitchers who lived up to his potential following a Rookie of the Year Award, winning a Cy Young just five years later. He pitched for a total of 18 seasons with the Dodgers, Cubs, Indians, Orioles, and Cardinals. “Rick is an integral member of our baseball team and we wish him a full recovery,” ESPN vice president of event production Tim Scanlan said. “We will keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.”rick
