I thought this story had quieted down but it apparently hasn’t. The film is so good and so sweet and so sad - it’s difficult to get behind the mentality where the victim is blamed, and in this case not even the victim but the actor playing the victim. Here is an NPR updated story about the boys who are about to be re-located to America and their claim that Paramount will not help relocate them permanently to America. For its part, Paramount did not grant an interview with NPR. What to make of it, what to make of it. The Academy have been known to shy away from controversy in the past so one must wonder what, if any, impact it will have on the Best Picture race.
