HEY WILLIE, PASS ME THE BLUE AND ORANGE GLASSES PLEASE

Between the Clemens-McNamee fiasco and listening to Willie Randolph try to convince me that the Mets will be a contender this season, there isn’t enough ice in the Artic to soothe my aching head.

The Clemens fiasco just gets more bizarre every day. When a new inspector comes on my job, one of the things I go over with them is testifying in court when the appear to defend a violation they have issued. The first thing I tell them is less is more. The less you say in court the better chance that the violation will be upheld. The more you talk in court the more the odds increase that the case goes the other way. Someone needs to tell that to MF Clemens.

Willie Randolph spoke about the September Not to Remember last night on Mets Hot Stove. Willie feels that the choke job will be behind his team this coming season. Good think Marty Noble was there to slap a little reality into Randolph.

Randolph thinks once the season starts slate is clean, Noble let him know that the first four game losing streak and the natives will be restless and if it happens in September, Flushing will look like Watts in1967.

At this point a mere 40 or so days before pitchers and catchers, I don’t think what the Mets do in September will be a big concern, in fact the way this team looks now Omar Minaya looks like he will be a seller and not a buyer come July. It looks like that ticket I have for the September 28 game against the Fish will be historic after all.
